Why is GB1 only open to users 18 years old and above?

Rather than moving fast and breaking things, we are trying to be really intentional in everything we do and to think through the long-term implications of what we’re building, who it serves, and how we can balance personal freedom with a safe experience for all.

Delivering a safe AI experience for children requires extensive consultation (with domain experts, educators, regulators, parents and children themselves) and real-world testing at scale. We also want to hear the views of the GB1 community before we make such a consequential decision, so until then we have decided to restrict GB1 to people aged 18 and above.
